Youth Mental Health First Aid

Youth Mental Health First Aid

Sometimes first aid isn't a bandage or CPR. Sometimes, first aid is YOU. Participants will be introduced to the unique risk factors and warning signs of mental health problems in adolescents, building understanding of the importance of early intervention, and teaching individuals how to help an adolescent in crisis or experiencing a mental health challenge.

Participants do not learn to diagnose, nor how to provide any therapy or counseling-rather, participants learn to support a youth developing signs and symptoms of a mental illness or in an emotional crisis by applying a core five-step plan.

Lunch will not be provided.  You will be given approximately an hour to have lunch with your training colleagues on your own.

Information on convenient local eateries will be provided at the training.
